Damian Lillard dunks on Skip Bayless after rip job: ‘You a joke’

Damian Lillard’s dunks are not strictly reserved for the basketball court.

The Trail Blazers star posterized Skip Bayless via Twitter on Monday after the Fox Sports host tweeted that he “still wasn’t buying ‘Dame Time.’”

“I have never been buying nothing about you fam. You a joke. And after our private convo full of back pedaling you will never have my respect,” Lillard tweeted with a clown emoji.

Bayless’ tweet was only a preview of what was to come on his show Monday morning after Lillard had missed two key free throws late in a 122-117 loss to the Clippers on Saturday.

“I will allow you to continue to stick your head in the sand about Damian Lillard, but I’m not going to,” Bayless said told Shannon Sharpe on “Undisputed.” “What happened on Saturday afternoon … validated what I’ve been asking about Damian Lillard. Is he really ‘That Guy?’ Does he really have ‘super’ in front of star in front of his name?

“I don’t see it and I haven’t seen it when it really, really counted, and I don’t think the Clippers had seen it either. Because I gotta tell you, they laughed at your man. They [Patrick Beverley and Marcus Morris] clowned your man when he missed the two free throws, then missed the tying 3 late in that game. They’re over on the bench, they’re tapping their imaginary watches, ‘it’s Dame Time.’ They’re waving goodbye to him just the way he waved goodbye to Russell Westbrook and Paul George, he was there, and they’re waving goodbye to him.

“And the great irony of this is the Blazers are the team the Clippers are rooting for to play your team, the Lakers, because it’s obvious, it is painfully obvious, that the Portland Trail Blazers have the best chance, at least on paper, of at least giving your guys a tussle in the first round on the playoffs.”

Lillard, who has never been shy about firing back at TV critics, came back from Saturday’s loss with a vengeance Sunday, dropping 51 points on the 76ers as the Trail Blazers battle for the No. 8 seed in the Western Conference.
